Selena Gomez playfully interacted with a cake adorned with her boyfriend Benny Blanco’s image in a provocative new post – after he boasted about their romantic life.
The singer, 31, who has been in a relationship with Blanco, 36, since June 2023, garnered attention as she sampled the cake honoring the release of his cookbook, Open Wide.
With a smile, the star indulged in the cake while music producer Blanco watched.
This follows Blanco’s acknowledgment of his relationship with Selena in December, where he took to Instagram to showcase a romantic gesture for the pop star: an elaborate steak dinner he prepared for her – mentioning its positive impact on their relationship.
‘I woke up early this morning and I was like, “I want to do something nice for my girlfriend,'” he began. ‘I was thinking, whenever I want to brighten her day, I just make her steak.’
He then demonstrated his culinary skills, preparing potatoes, salad dressing, whipped cream, and grilling the steak before presenting the dish to Selena at her home.
‘I’m going to write a sweet note and leave it by her bed so she can enjoy it later,’ he remarked as he entered Selena’s bedroom, where she was asleep.
‘I love you! Sleep well! I made you steak!’ Benny scribbled on a napkin accompanying the meal before gently squeezing her hand.
The video concluded with Selena reciprocating the gesture by squeezing his hand.
The Only Murders In The Building star later shared a picture of her boyfriend’s note on her Instagram Story, accompanied by a simple white heart.
Blanco also discussed his relationship with Selena on Hoda and Jenna, crediting his cooking for winning her affection.
He said: ‘I wake up every day and go, how did this happen? But until anyone figures it out, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!’
‘Look at me. The only way I got where I am is by cooking food. Are you kidding me?
‘That’s the best first date in the world. Cook up some food. How can anyone not love you if you cook a huge steak with potatoes and salad.’
Benny had previously revealed that another way to win Selena’s heart was through fried pickles.
While making a homemade batch for her on Valentine’s Day 2024, he joked to his followers, ‘Fried pickles get appreciation.’
The culinary demonstration follows Benny’s claim that he was ‘the last one to know’ about his love for Selena.
Speaking to WSJ. Magazine, Benny shared: ‘It’s crazy how your partner could just be sitting there the whole time, right in front of your eyes, and you don’t even notice.
‘And then you have that Clueless moment where you’re like, “Wait, I’m in love.”‘
Benny and Selena have a long-standing relationship as music collaborators.
They initially met as teenagers and later collaborated on Gomez’s second album, Revival, before officially becoming a couple in June of the previous year.
Since then, the pair have been openly affectionate about their relationship, frequently sharing moments of closeness on their Instagram accounts.
In February, the Lose You To Love Me singer posted intimate photos of Blanco holding her closely as she sat on his lap.
She also shared a snapshot of them sharing a passionate kiss backstage at the 2024 Golden Globes in January, following her loss for the best actress in a television series award to The Bear star Ayo Edebiri.
Despite the setback, she declared herself a winner, captioning the photo with her boyfriend, ‘I won.’
On December 7, Selena confirmed their relationship when she liked an Instagram post from the account @popfactions reporting on the ‘rumored’ romance.
After the account posted another update stating, ‘Selena Gomez Seemingly Confirms That She Is In A Relationship,’ Selena replied, ‘Facts.’
Selena has previously been romantically linked with high-profile celebrities including Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Zedd, Nick Jonas, and Taylor Lautner.
Benny was previously rumored to have been romantically involved with Elsie Hewitt, a model and actress from London (who has since been associated with Jason Sudeikis).
